How it works
Two birth charts.
One clear reading.
The match is read from where the Moon was when each of you was born: its sign, and its birth star. These two positions are compared in eight ways — the eight kootas.
Enter both birth details
Date, time and place of birth for each of you. The place gives the exact coordinates, and the timezone in force on that date.
Eight kootas, 36 points
Each koota looks at one part of married life — temperament, attraction, health, family — and gives points, 36 in all.
Doshas, checked properly
Nadi, Bhakoot and Mangal dosha, with the classical exceptions that cancel them. A frightening word should not end a good match on its own.
Explained in plain words
Every koota is explained for the two of you, so the result reads as meaning, not as a bare number.
The eight kootas
What the 36 points measure
The kootas are weighted. The first is worth one point and the last is worth eight, so a missing Nadi matters far more than a missing Varna.
- 1point
Varna
Work and duty
Varna puts each Moon sign into one of four groups, from the most thoughtful to the most practical. It comes from the sign, not from family or caste. Tradition gives the point when his group is the same as hers or above it.
- 2points
Vashya
Attraction and influence
Vashya puts each Moon sign into one of five groups: human, four-legged, water, wild and insect. It shows how easily you draw each other in, and how much each of you leads or follows.
- 3points
Tara
Health and luck
Tara counts the birth stars from yours to your partner's, and back again. Most counts are said to help the other person's health and luck. Three counts are said to work against them.
- 4points
Yoni
Physical closeness
Every birth star has an animal, called its yoni. Comparing your two animals shows how well you fit physically and intimately, and how your instincts match.
- 5points
Graha Maitri
Friendship of minds
Each Moon sign has a ruling planet. Graha Maitri asks whether your two ruling planets are friends. It shows how easily your minds meet: how you think, talk and settle things.
- 6points
Gana
Temperament
Every birth star has one of three natures, called ganas: Deva (gentle), Manushya (human) or Rakshasa (fierce and strong-willed). Gana compares your two natures.
- 7points
Bhakoot
Love, family and money
Bhakoot looks at how far apart your two Moon signs are. It is read for affection, family life and money together. Three distances, 2 and 12, 5 and 9, and 6 and 8, form Bhakoot dosha.
- 8points
Nadi
Health and children
Nadi puts each birth star into one of three body types: Adi (Vata), Madhya (Pitta) or Antya (Kapha). It carries the most points, 8 of 36, and is read for health and for children.
How to read the score
A score is never read alone. A 26 with an uncancelled Nadi dosha needs more thought than a 21 without one — which is why every koota and dosha is shown separately.

Questions
Before you start
Do I pay before I see anything?
No. Enter both birth details and you get a first look — both Moon signs and birth stars — before paying anything. The full report is ₹499.
What if I close the page after paying?
Nothing is lost. Every report is saved at its own private link, and it unlocks as soon as the payment is confirmed — even if the page was already closed. The match page also lists the reports made on your device, and once it’s unlocked you can download the PDF or send the link to yourself on WhatsApp.
What if we don’t know the exact birth time?
Use your best guess. The match comes mostly from the Moon, which moves slowly — about one birth star a day — so a few hours rarely change the kootas. Mangal dosha is different: it depends on the rising sign, which changes about every two hours, so treat it with care if a time is uncertain.
Is 18 points enough?
18 of 36 is the traditional minimum. But the total is only half the story. Nadi and Bhakoot dosha are judged on their own, and a good total can hide one. That is why the result shows every koota and every dosha separately.
What are Nadi, Bhakoot and Mangal dosha?
Nadi dosha is when you both share the same nadi. Bhakoot dosha is when your Moon signs sit 2 and 12, 5 and 9, or 6 and 8 signs apart. Mangal dosha comes from where Mars sits in each birth chart. Each has classical exceptions that cancel it, and the result tells you when one applies.
Why does it ask for her details and his details?
The traditional system is not symmetrical. Some kootas, such as Varna and Tara, are counted from one person to the other, so the result depends on whose chart is whose. Entering each person in their own column keeps it correct.
Which system do you use?
Ashtakoota, also called Guna Milan — the 36-point system used across most of North India — calculated with the Lahiri ayanamsa, the standard in Indian astrology.
Does a low score mean we should not marry?
No score can decide that for you. It shows where tradition sees ease and where it sees work. That is useful to know, and a good start for an honest conversation — with each other, and with an astrologer if you want one.
A match score doesn’t decide a marriage.
It shows what you are both bringing to it.
